Raj Babbar to make serial on Maharaja Ranjit Singh
Noted film actor and Lok Sabha member Raj Babbar has announced the launch of an ambitious project -- a television serial on the life and history of the ''Lion of Punjab'' Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

The serial entitled 'Lord of the Five Rivers -- Maharaja Ranjit Singh' would throw light on the 40-year rule of the Maharaja. Once completed, it would be telecast by Doordarshan and certain international channels.

The serial, to be shot on locations in Punjab, Rajasthan and Pakistan, will be directed by well-known director Charitrath Singh, who directed the Punjabi hits 'Chann Pradesi' and 'Shaheed Udham Singh'. The music would be rendered by ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh.
